Winmark Wines boasts a storied legacy as one of the premier vineyards in the Hunter Valley. Originally established as the esteemed Pooles Rock vineyard in the premium soils of the Broke Fordwich area, it was renowned as a top Hunter Valley vineyard of its time. The 130-acre property now features 28 acres of exceptional Chardonnay vines, situated below Yellow Rock and benefiting from the mountain breezes and stunning views.

After a successful era producing Pooles Rock wines, the estate fell into neglect for five years before Karin Adcock acquired and meticulously restored it. Under her stewardship, the estate reclaimed its former glory and was rebranded as Winmark Wines. The name “Winmark,” derived from Karin’s native Danish, means “Fields of Wines.”

With a rich viticultural heritage dating back to 1972, the former Pooles Rock property is experiencing a remarkable revival under Karin Adcock’s leadership. Supported by a skilled team of wine experts—including Viticulturalist Liz Riley, Vineyard Manager Dave Grosser, international wine consultant John Belsham, and winemaker Xanthe Hatcher—Winmark Wines ensures that each bottle reflects the highest standards from vine to glass.

The estate has transformed the former Pooles Rock storage sheds into a new yet authentic Cellar Door, preserving the property’s history. This space seamlessly connects the working 28-acre vineyard with a beautifully designed area, offering a perfect setting to enjoy and showcase Winmark Chardonnays.
